Energy Regulator’s Gas Policies Challenged by Texas AG, Industry

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and the American Petroleum Institute have demanded U.S. energy regulators reconsider actions to scrutinize new natural gas projects, arguing they harm the energy sector and exceed legal authority.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission “has erected nearly impenetrable barriers for most projects to obtain regulatory approval, to the detriment of the natural gas industry, consumers, and states like Texas,” the state wrote Friday in a request for rehearing.
