ENERGY BRIEFING: Senate Plans Conservation Vote in June

The Senate will vote on bipartisan conservation legislation when it returns to Capitol Hill for its next work period in June, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said on the floor yesterday.

The Great American Outdoors Act (S. 3422) would permanently fund the Land and Water Conservation Fund at its authorized $900 million annual level. It would also create a five-year, $9.5 billion trust fund from unallocated energy revenues to repair the country’s ailing national parks and public lands.
