ENERGY BRIEFING: Infrastructure Bill Heads to House Floor

The House will begin consideration today of Democrats’ $1.5 trillion infrastructure package, which includes amendments added last night related to strengthening the clean energy sector, reducing vehicle emissions, and boosting resources for environmental justice communities.

Among the House amendments to the bill (H.R. 2):

  • A measure that would provide $4.5 billion each year for five years for comprehensive lead service line replacement projects, with priority given to entities serving disadvantaged communities;
  • Language that would add environmental justice organizations to the list of stakeholders for EV charging and alternative fueling infrastructure grants;
