ENERGY BRIEFING: House Adopts Renewable Energy Amendments

The House adopted several measures yesterday to a fiscal 2021 appropriations package that boost funding for renewable energy and water infrastructure projects and ban money for a contentious mine project in Alaska.

The White House issued a statement recommending President Donald Trump veto the six-bill package if it reaches him. Among the administration’s objections is a provision blocking funds for a southern border wall. A vote on final passage of H.R. 7617 is scheduled for today.

The Energy Department would receive about $41 billion for funding in fiscal 2021 under the bill, an increase of $2.28 billion over fiscal 2020, ...
