ENERGY BRIEFING: House Adopts PFAS, Water Changes to EPA Bill

The House is set for a final vote today on the fiscal 2021 Interior-Environment spending package after adopting a bipartisan amendment yesterday that would prohibit the EPA from using money to withdraw a proposed rule that would designate so-called “forever chemicals” as hazardous substances.

That amendment, led by Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-Mich.), would ensure that the proposed rule to categorize perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) as hazardous substances under the Superfund law isn’t scrapped in fiscal 2021.
