Environmental groups said yesterday threats to endangered species mean the Fourth Circuit should issue an emergency order blocking construction on the Mountain Valley Pipeline.
The Sierra Club, Center for Biological Diversity, and three other groups filed a petition for review in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit after the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reinstated its permit for the pipeline.
The groups said the Army Corps failed to properly consider the impact of activities authorized by the permit on protected species.
