Staring down the barrel of a lawsuit from Michigan’s attorney general, Enbridge Inc. announced it will sue first to save its proposal for an oil and gas pipeline that burrows beneath Lake Michigan.
Enbridge will ask the Michigan Court of Claims, which handles state administrative law matters, to uphold the constitutionality of the company’s deal with former Gov. Rick Snyder (R) late last year. The court said the company hasn’t filed its request yet, and Enbridge didn’t immediately respond to a request for a copy.
