Enbridge Pipeline Gets Michigan Attorney General Ultimatum (1)

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel (D) will sue to halt permits for Enbridge Inc.'s oil and gas Line 5 pipeline within the next month if the company doesn’t reach a decommission deal with the state.

The Canadian energy company is in negotiations with Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) to decommission the 66-year-old line, which lies on the lake bed between Lake Michigan and Lake Huron through the Straits of Mackinac and transports oil south from Canada and propane north to users in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
