Enbridge Nets Court Victory in Michigan Oil, Gas Pipeline Suit

Enbridge Inc. is clear to continue tunneling plans under the Straits of Mackinac in order to replace its aging Line 5 dual oil and gas line, following a Michigan court ruling that the state committee approving the project is lawful.

The Oct. 31 Michigan Court of Claims ruling rebuffed arguments from the Michigan attorney general that a law enabling the company to move forward with the $500 million tunnel project was barred by a violation of legislative procedure in the Michigan Constitution.
