Emerging Markets Get Climate Group Support for Funding Push (1)

The emerging markets are falling further behind in attracting climate-related investments.

That’s according to a report released Thursday from the Climate Finance Leadership Initiative, which highlights policies that emerging-markets governments can take to attract funding for key areas such as clean energy and water, low-carbon mass transit, green buildings and sustainable land use.

The CFLI, whose members include Goldman Sachs Group Inc., Macquarie Group Ltd., Japan’s Pension Investment Fund and Axa SA, plans to start a series of pilot programs in countries, including India and Indonesia, to help direct money and drive policy adjustments in the energy transition.
