Eastern States Downwind of Power Plants Sue EPA for Inaction

The Environmental Protection Agency must act to enforce limits on air pollution drifting in from other states, New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut say in two new suits filed in federal trial and appeals courts in the District of Columbia.

The agency didn’t follow up when Pennsylvania and Virginia failed to submit “good neighbor” plans for reducing smog-producing emissions, New Jersey and Connecticut say in a suit filed Oct. 29 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
