DuPont Appeals Judgment in $40 Million PFAS Injury Case

E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Co. appealed a federal district court’s judgments in a PFAS exposure case in Ohio that required the company to pay a cancer survivor $40 million.

The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio decided not to order a new trial after a jury awarded cancer survivor Travis Abbott and his wife damages for exposure to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS. The company filed its appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit Tuesday.
