Dr Pepper, Mott’s Beat Applesauce Pesticide Residue Suit

Dr Pepper Snapple Group Inc. and unit Mott’s LLP convinced a California federal court to permanently throw out a suit alleging applesauce and apple juice was deceptively labeled “natural” because of residue of acetamiprid, a synthetic insecticide.

Hawyuan Yu failed, for the second time, to show that consumers would believe products labeled “natural” are free of any trace pesticides whatsoever, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California said Tuesday.
