The Biden administration’s nominee to lead the Justice Department’s Environment and Natural Resources Division faced few questions during his Senate confirmation hearing on Wednesday.
Judiciary Committee members largely ignored Todd Sunhwae Kim while focusing on Kristen Clarke, the nominee for assistant attorney general overseeing the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division.
Kim has had a “distinguished career as a courtroom advocate” and “is a lot less controversial” than Clarke, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), the Judiciary Committee’s top Republican, said in his opening statement.
