DOE to Fund Up to $32 Million in Methane Reduction Research

The Department of Energy has allocated up to $32 million in research funding to support the development of monitoring, measurement, and mitigation technologies to reduce methane emissions, according to a news release Friday.

This funding is intended for projects that will help ensure “an efficient, resilient, and leak-tight natural gas infrastructure,” the department said.

Applications are due Oct. 4.
