Detroiters Seek Class Action Against DTE Energy for Flood Damage

Utility giant DTE Energy Co. is allegedly liable for power issues at a Detroit pumping station that contributed to flooding in hundreds of homes last month, a complaint filed in Michigan state court claims.

A group of plaintiffs is seeking to form a class action for potentially thousands of metro Detroit residents. They allege that a DTE Energy subcontractor caused a power failure leading to a key pumping station losing half of its capacity and causing sewer backups.
