Desert Pumping, Paper Receipt Ban Bills Moving in California

Legislators in California’s Senate and Assembly have been busy the past two weeks passing hundreds of bills to meet a May 31 deadline—when bills must pass their house of origin or die.

Several of those measures dealt with environmental issues, from groundwater sustainability and hazardous site cleanups to paper receipts and prohibiting the sale of fur products.
