Democrats Set Science Committee Roster, Lamb Chairs Energy Panel

Democrats tapped several fresh faces Jan. 30 as chairmen of nearly a half-dozen House Science subcommittees, including Pennsylvania’s Conor Lamb (D), who has broken with the party on environmental issues.

Lamb will head the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee’s Subcommittee on Energy. After winning a special election in 2018, he was one of just seven Democrats who voted in July for a Republican-led resolution (H. Con. Res. 119) that said carbon taxes would be “detrimental” to the U.S. economy and suggested pricing carbon would force more jobs and businesses overseas.
