Court Stops Interior Delay of Gas ‘Venting and Flaring’ Rule

The Trump administration again ran into legal trouble in its effort to delay Interior Department regulations that control natural gas emissions in oil and gas fields on federal and Indian lands.

A federal district court judge late Feb. 22 issued a preliminary injunction to block the administration’s delay of regulations created by the 2016 Waste Prevention Rule, also known as the venting and flaring rule.
