North American Coal Corp. is pushing a high-stakes climate question to the U.S. Supreme Court, following a similar effort by Republican state officials.
The high court needs to reverse a recent decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit and clarify the scope of the Environmental Protection Agency’s regulatory authority over greenhouse gas emissions, the mining giant said in a petition filed last week and docketed Tuesday.
