A lawsuit that links actions by Exxon to climate change is headed to trial, a federal judge in Boston ruled March 13.

The lawsuit is the first of its kind in the nation and is being watched by corporations and environmental groups.

The Conservation Law Foundation, an environmental organization, filed the lawsuit against Exxon in 2016 alleging the company is ignoring the potential impacts of climate change at its oil and natural gas terminal on the Mystic River in Everett, Mass., just outside Boston.
