Cleanup Contractor Enercon Services Hit With Superfund Suit

The owner of a former dry-cleaning site sued cleanup contractor Enercon Services Inc. in the Northern District of California, alleging the company’s drilling caused the release and spread of perchloroethene to previously uncontaminated areas.

Golden Gate Way LLC alleges that Enercon, while investigating contamination at the Lafayette, Calif., site, drilled a boring that created “an open conduit for the release, escape and/or movement of contaminants,” resulting in the spread of contamination.
