Cleaning Products Moving to List Chemicals in Their Suds

Longer, fine-print ingredient lists are coming to a store near you as cleaning-product makers respond to demands to disclose more about the chemicals they use.

Facing low consumer trust and a problematic patchwork of state and retailer mandates, the industry also is working on national disclosure legislation as a solution.

Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps, Earth Friendly Products, the Good Home Co., and Unilever’s Seventh Generation, Inc., are among the cleaning product manufacturers that already list some or all of their ingredients on their labels.
