Clean-Power Trade Group Plans Merger to Boost Lobbying Clout

The American Clean Power Association, the major renewable-energy trade group, intends to merge with the U.S. Energy Storage Association, according to a news release Thursday.

The merged group will operate under the ACP name and be headed by the group’s current President Heather Zichal, who worked on energy and climate-change issues in the Obama Administration. ACP was formed in January when some of the biggest U.S. clean-energy companies joined forces with the American Wind Energy Association.
