China’s Clean Energy Plan to Compete With U.S. Green Industry

A plan from the Chinese government to create an environmentally friendly economy is poised to boost global clean-tech investors but squeeze some U.S. green industry businesses out of the market, as Beijing steers funding to leading domestic companies, observers say.

China’s top decision making body, the State Council, released a national blueprint Monday to reach technology breakthroughs in clean energy, energy conservation, environmental protection and lower-carbon industrial production. The guidance is in line with leader Xi Jinping’s goal to achieve carbon neutrality for the country by 2060.
