Chemours Asks Delaware High Court to Revive DuPont Spinoff Suit

Chemours Co. will ask Delaware’s top court to revive its lawsuit over billions in environmental liabilities it may have assumed during its 2015 spinoff from DowDuPont Inc., after a judge sent those claims to arbitration last month.

Chemours’ suit accuses its former parent of saddling it with virtually unlimited exposure to costly cleanup demands and litigation involving cancer-linked “forever chemicals” like PFOA, formerly used in firefighting foam and nonstick cookware. The case was filed in the Chancery Court last May.
