Chemical manufacturers would have to more fully justify their need to have the EPA keep certain details about their business confidential under a rule the agency proposed Thursday.
The Environmental Protection Agency’s proposal (RIN: 2070-AK68) would require manufacturers to use updated software to file their confidential business information, or CBI, requests. The software has popups that, similar to tax software, remind users to provide certain details to the agency to avoid procedural errors and missing information.
