Chemical Industry to Stop Selling Chlorpyrifos in California

DowDupont Inc. and other chemical manufacturers next year will stop selling the pesticide chlorpyrifos in California, state officials said Oct. 9.

The action follows the state in May setting new allowable levels as part of a broader state move to ban the pesticide to push growers to change practices in ways that reduce exposures to bystanders, workers, and the environment. Chlorpyrifos has been linked to neurological delays in children.
