Transchem Inc., a Carlsbad, Calif., chemical import and distribution company, has reached a settlement agreement with the Environmental Protection Agency for alleged violations of the Toxic Substances Control Act, according to EPA Thursday.
The company allegedly didn’t accurately report the annual volume of chemical substances that it imported in 2015 and also failed to submit a notice to EPA before it imported and distributed a substance subject to a significant new use rule, the agency said.
Transchem Inc. will pay a civil penalty of $147,617, EPA said.
