A Charleston, S.C., based water sports company must remove a “Tiki Hut” dock it installed in federal waters, the United States alleged in a lawsuit.
Hydrofly LLC constructed and commercially operated the Tiki Hut—built on floating pontoons—in the Ashley River from 2018 to 2020. Upon request from the Army Corps of Engineers, the company removed the Tiki Hut, and then three months later put it back in the river and resumed operations.
