Canada Looks to Fix ‘Lax’ Carbon Price After Major Court Win

Canada will aim to strengthen its national carbon tax, and more provinces will likely pursue greenhouse gas pricing regimes of their own, after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s major court win.

Environment and Climate Change Canada Minister Jonathan Wilkinson said Thursday that he plans to change the way the tax applies to industrial facilities to ensure emissions are adequately priced. He said he’ll “be reaching out again about how we can move forward in a renewed spirit of common purpose.”
