California Water Transfer Dispute Moves Toward Settlement

A local water authority is moving to settle claims that it improperly certified environmental review of a water transfer project in violation of the California Environmental Quality Act, according to a notice filed in a California federal court.

The water transfer project approved by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and San Luis & Delta-Mendota Water Authority would move water from sellers upstream of the Sacramento and San Joaquin Delta to buyers downstream.
