California Forest Logging Dispute Dropped by Conservation Groups

Unite the Parks, Sequoia Forestkeeper, and Earth Island Institute will step away from their lawsuit challenging logging projects in national forests in California that the conservation groups said threatened a protected weasel, according to a filing in a federal court in the state.

The groups said in their complaint filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of California that the US Forest Service and Fish and Wildlife Service failed to protect the endangered Southern Sierra Nevada Pacific fisher.
