California Challenges FAA Approval of Airport Expansion Project

California is suing the Federal Aviation Administration over its approval of a proposed airport cargo facility, saying the project will harm a community that’s already burdened with heavy air pollution.

The FAA failed to conduct an adequate environmental review of the San Bernardino Eastgate Air Cargo Facility project in violation of the National Environmental Policy Act, according to the state’s petition for review filed Thursday in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
