A coalition of top attorneys from Republican-led states filed a petition for review Friday against the Biden administration’s move to resurrect California’s Clean Air Act waiver.
Sixteen attorneys general led by Ohio told the court that the authority used to bring back the Golden State’s exemption for car emission standards violates equal sovereignty for other states.
The waiver, rescinded under the Trump administration, was reinstated by President Joe Biden in March as part of more stringent moves on greenhouse gas emissions from vehicles.
