Bipartisan Bill Could Spur Solar, Wind Power on Public Lands

Renewable energy development on federal land in the West could get a boost under a bipartisan bill that aims to create a revenue-sharing system for wind, solar, and geothermal power on public lands.

Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) on July 17 introduced the Public Land Renewable Energy Act (H.R. 3794), which would distribute part of federal revenues generated from renewables development to county and state governments, and contribute part to a fund that supports outdoor recreation, sporting, and conservation.
