A former official at the National Wildlife Federation who served in the Obama administration is President Joe Biden’s choice to manage the Interior Department’s energy and land programs—solidifying environmentalist oversight of federally-owned oil, gas and other energy resources.
Laura Daniel-Davis was nominated to be assistant secretary for Land and Minerals Management, the White House announced Friday. She currently holds the title of principal deputy assistant secretary of the division.
The White House also nominated M. Camille Calimlim Touton as Bureau of Reclamation commissioner. The bureau manages many federally-owned dams and water supply projects throughout the West.
