The Biden administration introduced proposed guidance Wednesday aimed at increasing US-made material requirements in infrastructure projects to boost domestic manufacturing.
The White House said its proposed guidance sets domestic manufacturing standards for construction materials, including plastic and polymer-based products, glass, lumber, and drywall. The proposed rule is set to publish in the Federal Register on Thursday.
“This major step forward will strengthen implementation of domestic content standards,” Made in America Director Livia Shmavonian said in a post on Wednesday.
