Army Corps Water Project Risks Threatened Salmon, Suit Says

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is pushing forward with a water reallocation project that will jeopardize species of salmon and steelhead in violation of the Endangered Species Act, according to a new lawsuit filed in Oregon federal court.

The Army Corps already submitted its plan to Congress, despite a warning from the National Marine Fisheries Service that it will fail to provide sufficient flow to protect the fish, environmental groups say in their lawsuit filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon.
