Army Corps Approval of Moda Terminal Expansion Draws Lawsuit

The Army Corps of Engineers failed to fully consider the environmental impacts when it issued a permit to Moda Ingleside Oil Terminal LLC for its export terminal expansion project in Texas, according to a lawsuit filed Tuesday in federal court in the state.

The lawsuit filed by environmental groups and an American Indian tribe challenges the Corps’ decision to issue a Clean Water Act Section 404 permit for the proposed expansion of Moda Ingleside Energy Center in San Patricio County, Texas.
