Arizona, Nevada Amend Arrangements
Under Colorado River Water Agreement

PHOENIX—An agreement between Arizona and Nevada for Colorado River water storage has been amended, the authority that regulates the agreement announced April 18.

Southern Nevada Water Authority spokesman Scott Huntley told BNA that Arizona in 2005 agreed to bank some of their unused Colorado River water. In return for payments from Nevada, Arizona would make some of the water available. The deal, worth more than $300 million, thus gave the Las Vegas area 1.25 million acre-feet of water through 2060.
