Amazon PFAS Suit Dropped Because of Unresponsive Plaintiff

Amazon.com Inc. can avoid a lawsuit over the sales of disposable plates and bowls that allegedly contain forever chemicals known as PFAS due to the plaintiff’s failure to communicate with his attorney, a California federal court ruled.

Plaintiff Rick Nguyen said in the proposed class action filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California that he bought the products from Amazon because they were labeled as compostable. Had he known they contained perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances, he wouldn’t have purchased the products, according to the lawsuit.
