Advocates Challenge Dredge-and-Fill Permit
For Santa Clara River Development Project

Environmental groups filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Environmental Protection Agency challenging a Clean Water Act Section 404 permit for the planned development of Newhall Ranch along the Santa Clara River in northern Los Angeles County (Ctr. for Biological Diversity v. U.S. Army Corps of Eng’rs).

In their March 6 complaint, the groups allege that corps approval of the project and related permits violated the Administrative Procedure Act, the Clean Water Act, the National Environmental Policy Act and the National Historic Preservation Act.
