Administration Eyes Permitting Nevada Critical Mineral Mine (1)

The permitting process will soon begin for a new mine on federal land in central Nevada that would produce critical minerals under a 2017 executive order signed by President Donald Trump.

The Bureau of Land Management said in a Federal Register notice Tuesday that it will prepare an environmental impact statement for the Gibellini Project, a proposed open-pit vanadium mine that would spread across 6,456 acres about 27 miles south of Eureka, Nev.
