Environmentalists plan to increase pressure on California officials to prohibit an insecticide used on fruit and vegetables that the Trump administration declined to ban.
Miriam Rotkin-Ellman, a senior scientist with the Natural Resources Defense Council, said demonstrations on Cesar Chavez Day in California March 31 will include farmworker and pesticide reform groups that will urge Gov. Jerry Brown (D) to ban the pesticide chlorpyrifos across the state.
