White House Looking for Telehealth Value Added in Price of Care

Telemedicine needs to show where it can add value—by lowering health coverage costs or improving access to care—as policymakers consider permanently loosening regulatory restrictions, a White House adviser said Thursday.

The telehealth industry and employer groups are lobbying to permanently lift restrictions, such as geographic limits on where telehealth visits can be used or state licensing requirements that prohibit telehealth providers from serving patients across state lines.
