Walgreens Accused of Sending Confusing, Incomplete COBRA Notices

Four former Walgreen Co. employees filed a proposed class action claiming the pharmacy chain sends confusing and legally deficient notices informing workers of their right to stay on the company health plan after leaving their jobs.

Walgreens’ COBRA notices lack critical information and are sent in a piecemeal fashion that confuses employees and causes them to lose health insurance coverage, the workers said in a complaint filed in the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
