USC Retirement Plan Lawsuit Won’t Stop During Appeal

The University of Southern California lost another battle in the lawsuit over its retirement plan as a federal judge refused to put the case on hold while the college appeals a decision (Munro v. Univ. of S. Cal., C.D. Cal., No. 2:16-cv-06191-VAP-E, 7/7/17).

The judge on July 7 denied USC’s request to temporarily halt the proposed class action while the school asks a federal appeals court to force the case into arbitration. The judge said USC’s appeal raises important legal issues, including a question that the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit has yet to answer:...
