United Healthcare Gets Proton Beam Cancer Care Suits Transferred

United Healthcare Insurance Co. succeeded in having two proposed class actions over its coverage of cancer treatments transferred to the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, where it’s defending a third lawsuit raising similar allegations.

A federal judge in the Middle District of Florida granted United’s unopposed motion to transfer on Oct. 30. Two days earlier, a federal judge in the Southern District of Florida issued a similar order over the objections of the patient who filed suit.
