Rollover Timeline, Student Debt on Treasury’s To-Do List

The Treasury Department still aims to complete four languishing regulatory projects even though Congress has added implementing the retirement-related SECURE Act to its workload, a department aide said.

Bill Evans, an attorney adviser in the department’s Office of Benefits Tax Counsel, told attendees at an American Bar Association conference in Boca Raton, Fla., on Friday that Treasury continues working through issues ranging from President Donald Trump’s 2017 tax bill to a private letter ruling on paying down student loan debt.
